Operations Architect – Relocation, Supply Chain & Launch Management

“There is a better way.”

29 years in automotive and Tier-1 manufacturing, running my own practice since 2019 (SPECHT PROJECTS, formerly SPECHT CONCEPTS) across the Singapore/Batam-Germany corridor. I lead tool relocations, site transfers and series launches from data cleanup to stable start of production – fixing systems, not symptoms. As an INTJ architect I think in structures: strategy, execution, result. Based in Singapore/Batam, on-site for mandates in DACH and Southeast Asia.

  • Tool and production relocation, including under time pressure or insolvency conditions
  • Master data and BOM cleanup as the foundation for relocation and scale-up
  • Series launch and ramp-up, Phase 0 to stable series
  • Supplier switch and second sourcing without interrupting ongoing supply
  • Factory and material flow planning without new-build investment
  • Supply chain stabilization under delivery constraints

Magna International (Change Manager, global JIS/JIT coordination, 3 continents, EUR 100M annual revenue secured) · MAHLE Behr (Process development, cockpit product line, two greenfield projects at EUR 8M and EUR 60M, built own logistics database since 2002) · HBPO/Plastic Omnium (Change & Ramp-up Manager, Porsche Taycan cockpit) · SMP Deutschland/Samvardhana Motherson (Project Manager, master schedule across seven project leads) · BorgWarner Drivetrain Engineering (Investment assessment, EUR 32M VW hybrid module).

SPECHT PROJECTS, Singapore/Batam/Germany – Senior Interim Executive & Operations Architect

Qualification/sampling, forged bearing components, two Italian plants (PrimoTECS/Mutares for SKF): PPAP, customer approvals, production and logistics readiness.

Cleanroom/semiconductor relocation, Germany to Slovakia: led 20+ parallel workstreams, rebuilt SAP-based disposition and data migration from zero, series start after 12 weeks with no supply interruption, under insolvency conditions. First-attempt customer audit passed, particle count below the required ISO Class 4.

Manufacturing layout, special machinery (Mall + Herlan, Neuhausen): freed 1,900 sqm of floor space (30% footprint reduction), avoided EUR 1.9M CapEx, +35% revenue per sqm, integrated a major new order with no production interruption.

Supply chain stabilization, Carrier Transicold, Rouen: four-person OPEX team, EUR 0.25M/month reduction in special transport costs, 25% capacity freed in planning, 15% in goods receipt/warehouse.

Ramp-up, automotive Tier-1 Hungary (e-mobility/battery systems, NDA; OEM BMW): capacity management at the Tier-1/OEM interface, bottleneck eliminated, zero-defect series start.

Interim SCM, climate and cooling systems (NDA): 25% shorter procurement lead time.

Automotive Tier-1 (JIS/JIT) · Semiconductor and cleanroom, packaging to ISO Class 4 · Plastics and injection molding · Special machinery · Climate and cooling systems · E-mobility and battery ramp-up

  • Master data and BOMs that drift apart across plants and stall a relocation
  • Missing disposition and supplier connectivity after losing the previous logistics/purchasing structure
  • Releasing floor space and capacity without new-build investment
  • Stabilizing a series launch under time and cost pressure
  • Supplier switches without interrupting ongoing supply

  • On-time series start even under insolvency or extreme time pressure
  • Redundancies in master data and inventory made visible and removed
  • Floor space and capacity released without new-build investment
  • Stable supply chain through the transition

As an INTJ architect I think in systems, not isolated fixes: I make redundancies in master data, BOM structures and supplier data visible and remove them before they delay a relocation or a launch. Measurable system architecture, not a slide deck.

Lean, Six Sigma DMAIC, value stream mapping, 5S, SMED, Kaizen · VDA 6.3, FMEA, APQP, PPAP, 8D · S&OP, JIS/JIT, second sourcing · MTM/REFA workforce planning · Schedule management (MS Project) for relocations and launches

  • Master data and BOM cleanup as the foundation for scale-up or relocation
  • Floor space and capacity gains without new-build investment, comparable to the Neuhausen project
  • Stable series launch at the new site with no supply interruption
  • Building a resilient disposition and supplier base at the target location

SPECHT PROJECTS

30% shorter ramp-up in an automotive relocation Germany-Romania. Cleanroom relocation to Slovakia under insolvency conditions, SOP after 12 weeks. EUR 1.9m saved and 35% more revenue per sqm through footprint optimisation.

Systems thinking, resilience under time pressure, cross-cultural communication (projects across Europe, Asia and Africa), ownership, structured problem solving, negotiation skills
